The Written Idea Desciption
The written description is the first discipline of the Idea Competition. The team has to demonstrate their ability to give a short and precise description of their idea in writing with no use of images, illustrations, video etc. – only words and maximum one page (2400 characters) for primary and secondary school and two pages (4800 characters) for further education.
Judging criteria
The team will be evaluated on the idea, value creation, target group, realisation and partners, but they will also get points for the presentation itself. The team can collect up to a 100 points for delivering a precise, vivid and thoroughly prepared narrative about their idea under the headline ”Written presentation”.
In short, a team can get up to 280 points for the written description and 2 x 230 points for the face-to-face pitches. The team with the highest total score from each of the four categories will move on to the finals so if a team wants to have a shot at qualifying for the finals it is worth putting some energy into developing the written description.
You can find a guide with the judging criteria here.
Mandatory headlines
When the students are preparing their idea description, it is mandatory to use the headlines from the judging criteria. You can use the template found here, copy the final description and paste it into the textfield at ”Min side”. It is not possible to uploade a document or photo or to send the idea description by mail or post.
Remember – you only have 2400/4800 characters incl. spaces.
You will find the template here.
Deadline for typing in the written description on ”Min side” is Tuesday October 27, 2020 at 12.00.
Any doubts about how to type in the presentation?
What happens next?
After the deadline all the descriptions will be read and given points by the judges. The judgment will not be published before the Award. After the competition all teams will receive an email with an overview of all their received points of both the written description and the pitch.
